SIGNING: Crusaders Sign Defenceman Stevie Grumley

SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Stevie Grumley (’07) for the 2024/2025 season.

“We are ecstatic about bringing Stevie into the Crusaders organization,” stated Crusaders general manager Adam Sergerie. “His decision to join us speaks volumes about the direction our organization is heading. Stevie’s maturity and leadership, demonstrated by his captaincy in Los Angeles, will be invaluable to our team both on and off the ice. We believe his presence will bolster our defensive line and inspire his teammates to elevate their game. We look forward to seeing Stevie thrive and contribute to our success in the upcoming seasons.”

“We are very grateful to Stevie’s advisory group at CAA and his parents for believing in and entrusting us with Stevie’s development. We can’t wait to see him in a Crusaders jersey.”

We’re really excited to add another young talented defenceman to our roster,” commented Crusaders head coach Brennan Menard. “Stevie had options and him viewing the Crusaders program and style of play as the best spot for him to continue his development is very exciting for us as a program.”

Stevie is a very mature player, and was the captain of a high-profile organization in Los Angeles,” he continued. “Adding that type of leadership to our team and defensive core on and off the ice is something we really value.”

Last season saw Grumley, 17, play for the 16U AAA Jr. LA Kings. Not only did the Manhattan Beach, California native collect 43 points (12 goals, 31 assists) in 69 total games, but saw him selected as the team’s captain.

The Crusaders would like to welcome Stevie and the entire Grumley family to the organization.
