NEWS ⎸ Kale Dach Named Crusaders Captain

SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce forward Kale Dach as team captain for the remainder of the 2024/2025 BCHL Season.

On behalf of the Sherwood Park Crusaders organization, we are incredibly proud to name Kale Dach as our team captain for this season,” commented Crusaders GM, Adam Sergerie. “Watching Kale grow and mature in front of our eyes has been one of the most fulfilling experiences for me on a personal level. He exemplifies the values and work ethic we strive for both on and off the ice. His leadership, determination, and commitment to his teammates make him the perfect choice to lead our team as we continue to push for excellence. We’re confident he will set a great example and carry the torch for our team’s proud tradition.”

“Congratulations, Kale. In just our second season together, watching you grow into this role has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” echoed head coach Brennan Menard. You embody everything this program stands for: dedication, character, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. Your leadership and play have consistently reinforced our vision and message. Always calm under pressure, you bring relentless drive every single day.”

“Since arriving as a 16-year-old, your consistency and habits have made you a cornerstone of the Crusaders. Naming you captain is a testament to the respect and pride we all have in you.”

Dach, currently committed to Penn State University (NCAA, Div.1), is in the midst of his second season with the Crusaders. Since joining the organization at 16, the forward has collected a total of 58 points (14 goals, 44 assists). This season, Dach has exploded for 45 points in just 30 games, placing him third in BCHL scoring. His 34 assists also ties him with linemate Jeremy Loranger for the most in the league. Additionally, this season saw Dach named to the BCHL Top Propects Game, as well as listed as a Player to Watch by NHL Central Scouting.

Not only has Dach excelled on the ice, but off the ice.

“Seeing Dacher develop as a person and player over the last couple of seasons has been a joy,” said defenceman Tait Ross on the selection. “He’s a little quieter but he impacts everyone else in so many different ways, as an older player it’s really cool to see someone so mature for his age. I couldn’t be happier for him and look forward to seeing his continued success this season.”

“Dacher is very deserving of this achievement as he embodies the qualities that define a Crusader,” echoed Nic Beaudoin. “He is an elite player and a notable individual both on and off the ice. His ability to think the game at a high speed with top-tier execution sets him apart as an elite competitor of the game. Despite the success he has earned this season, he remains a humble and grounded leader. He is never complacent, consistently striving to improve his game and working to elevate those around him. Exactly the kind of leader you want guiding your team.”

“Kale’s appointment as captain speaks volumes about his dedication and maturity,” stated Logan Hauer, the Crusaders’ previous captain. “A hardworking player on the ice, in the gym, and in school, he leads by example and shows immense potential. I roomed with him a lot last year and although he was a quieter guy, even as a rookie you could tell he was a natural leader. It’s inspiring to see such a young athlete take charge and set the standard for his teammates. I am looking forward to seeing where he can lead the Crusaders and take his playing career. Congrats Dacher and good luck to you and the team for the rest of the season!”
