COMMITMENT: Tristen Payne Joins Cru for 2024/2025 Campaign

SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of defenceman Tristen Payne (’06) for the 2024/2025 BCHL Season.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tristan to our team for the upcoming season,” stated Crusaders GM Adam Sergerie. “Tristan had an exceptional year, earning all-star status in the U18 AAA BCEHL league and being recognized as one of the top defensemen. His familiarity with our team and his connection as Dom’s brother only add to our confidence that we are gaining a high-character player.”

“We would also like to extend our gratitude to Tristan’s advisor group, Top Shelf Hockey, and his family for their continued trust and support.”

Payne, 17, is the brother of former Crusaders defenceman Dominic Payne. The North Vancouver native has played the last two seasons with the Vancouver NW Hawks AAA program. Last year saw Payne score over a point-per-game, picking up 34 points (11 goals, 23 assists) in 28 games, as well as captaining the team. The 2023/2024 campaign also saw Payne named as both a BCEHL and CEHL First Team All-Star.

The team would like to welcome Tristen to the team, and the Payne family back to the organization.
